Parysatis of the Ashfall Two tracks for mystery and enchantment. The quiet Kodama evokes the magic of a glimmering forest. The drum and bass-like drums of Pan give the track a nice edge, while still maintaining its dreamy and mysterious quality. Blue Loop has created something special here that is sweet and lovely and deserves to be heard by everyone. 💜🌿 Favorite track: Kodama.

about

Kodama / Pan - New double A side from London electronic producer Blue Loop.

Together, the two tracks explore dualities experienced during the Covid winter lockdown - of light and dark, motion and stillness, tension and release.

Named after the forest spirits of Studio Ghibli film Princess Mononoke, first track Kodama is a meditative electronic soundscape, featuring cascading clarinet improvisations from folk musician Rose Ford. It is glacial and expansive, and best served on a sub-heavy soundsystem.

Pan marks a progression into jungle/DnB territory for Blue Loop, whilst retaining her trademark experimental edge. It is built up from intricate beats sampled from a Porto street drummer in autumn 2020, before gradually giving rise to euphoric synths and punchy techno bass.
